Artist Bio

Sarah Ziazi is an illustrator and muralist that creates artwork using traditional and modern painting mediums like acrylics, gouache, spray paints and stencils. Sarah enjoys using recurring themes of identity and nostalgia to implement colour, texture, form, and craft. These methods have allowed them to explore progressive themes like intersectionality, cultural demographics, and nature-influenced works on bell boxes, concrete ground murals, garage doors, mirrored walls and canvas boards.

What is the inspiration behind your planter?

My planter is inspired by playful elements of femininity and the beauty of women from all nationalities.

What does growth mean to you?

Growth is like life's adventure. It's about trying new things, facing stuff that's a bit scary, and discovering you're tougher and smarter than you thought. It's proof that we're not stuck where we started, and every oops moment is just a detour to awesome. Growth is like a constant reminder that I'm not stuck in one place, and every time I goof up, it's just another chance to learn from my mistakes and level up in this amazing game of life.

What does community mean to you?

Community is like a warm hug of connections and helping hands. It's where we find folks who've been through what we have, ready with a smile or a hand when things get tough. Whether it's our neighbourhood, a cultural group, or digital space, communities lies in its power to nurture a sense of identity, and remind us that we're never truly alone on this intricate journey of life. It reminds us we're part of something bigger, offering a comfy spot to just be ourselves - just like The Give and Grow!
